MUSHROOM IDENTIFICATION CLASSES

My Top 14 Edible Mushrooms class is an in-depth, in-person class that teaches you to confidently identify 14 of the most delicious and safe edible mushrooms in our region. These mushrooms were chosen because they are easy to identify, can be found consistently in our area and have no deadly lookalikes. The goal of this class is for participants to leave with the ability and confidence to identify, harvest and enjoy the mushrooms they learned.

We’ll cover basic mushroom anatomy, the nine steps of observation, spore prints, and the most common toxic species in our region. You’ll also learn where and when to find mushrooms, plus how to clean, cook, and preserve your harvest.

The class size is small and the materially is beginner-friendly. It is held indoors with a photo-rich slideshow. You will receive comprehensive handouts covering the material and a link to the photo slideshow for future reference. The class lasts 4 -4.5 hours and is $95 per person or $150 for two. A sliding scale available, please don't hesitate to ask.

Chaga tea and light snacks are provided.
